The Permanent Human RIghts Observatory of the Aguan (OPDHA) alerts all the social and Human Rights defense organizations, asking that they take up urgent solidarity and protective actions for the defenders, MARTHA ARNOLD, IRMA LEMUS and DURAN, members of this observatory who have been followed since the early hours of the morning yesterday, the 30th, and today the 31 of July, 2014 by two 3.0 double cabin, white vehicles with tinted windows. Inside the vehicle today, July 31, 2014 were military forces and the legal representative of Miguel Facussé, Omar de Jesús Garay Zuñiga.

Between 8:00 and 9:00 in the morning yesterday, July 30, 2014, Martha Arnold was under surveillance by one of these vehicle described above while she waited in front of the Metro Plaza in Tocoa for the bus to Sonaguera. She could not identify any of the people in the interior of the vehicle because of the dark tinted glass.
At 10:00 am today, July 31, 2014, before the initial court hearing in the sectional court in Trujillo against the six adult campesinos from the community of Panamá charged with usurpation of land in the context of the violent eviction on July 3, 2014, Irma Lemus and Rigoverto Durán together with the lawyers from CIPRODEH, Alex Navas and José Alejandro Mairena, representatives of the 6 in the legal proceedings, along with a group of campesinos from the community of Panamá, WERE FILMED BY A SOLDIER IDENTIFIED BY THE LAWYER ALEX NAVAS BY THE NAME ROLANDO MARADIAGA.
On this same day, July 31, 2014 between 6:00 and 7:00 pm., returning from the hearing in Trujillo, IRMA LEMUS and RIGOBERTO DURAN WERE BEING STALKED BY THE SAME TWO VEHICLES DESCRIBED ABOVE, forcing them to take refuge in a store until they were helped by a human rights organization that went to rescue them and recognized one of the vehicles that remained in the place where they were waiting.

Given this evident persecution that threatens the personal integrity and lives of the members of OPDHA and the defense lawyers, WE ARE ALERTING NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS ENTITIES AND ASKING THAT : 1. THEY REMAIN ALERT REGARDING THE EVENTS THAT CONTINUE TO DEVELOP ON THE SCENE 2. THEY DECLARE TO THE RESPONSIBLE AUTHORITIES AND TO THE CITIZENRY IN GENERAL TO INSIST UPON AN EXPLANATION FOR THE SURVEILLANCE BY THESE 3.0 VEHICLES, WITHOUT LICENSE PLATES, AGAINS THE HUMAN RIGHTS DEFENDERS OF THE PDHA AND THE REASON AND PURPOSE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHS OR VIDEOS THAT WERE TAKEN BY THEIR MILITARY PERSONNEL IDENTIFIED BY THE NAME OF ROLANDO MARADIAGA.
